Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek.

Jiri village is situated in Dolakha district about 7 to 8 hours due to narrow, winding road and checkpoints along the high-way drive from Kathmandu. The distance between Kathmandu to Jiri is an about 185 kilometers and an altitude of 1955 meters from the sea level. Jiri is now a days main gate-way for many treks into the Mount Everest region. The trek to Lukla will take about 7 or 8 days. Very few people actually begin a trek from Jiri, those all trekkers who attempt the difficult trek to Everest Base Camp start at Jiri.
